Biographical Information


DARR L. GOSS, MAI  PRESIDENT

STATE CERTIFIED GENERAL APPRAISER


Darr is a third generation Oregonian born and raised on a farm in the Salem area.  He has owned and operated various farm and timberland properties. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon and his Masters Degree from George Washington University.

Darr has comprehensive and extensive experience in all real property classifications as an investment counselor, arbiter, land use consultant, appraiser, broker and theoretician. Assignments from private, institutional and governmental sectors include economic feasibility studies; development of valuation techniques for special single use properties; marketing and management plans; wetlands studies; sensitivity analysis; cost/benefit studies; and purchase price allocations. He enjoys rural assignments and is experienced in farm, ranch, forest and conservation/preservation land valuation.

A former United States Air Force Reconnaissance pilot, he specializes in aerial and video photography for valuation and litigation presentations. Darr is married and has three children. He is a licensed airline transport pilot.His avocation is travel combined with sailing, swimming, and photography. He has served as a board member of the American Pacific Bank, President of the Salem Planning Commission and as a member of the Capital Planning Commission.

DR. KATHY B. GOSS,
D. Ed. VICE PRESIDENT

STATE REGISTERED APPRAISER ASSISTANT


Kathy is a fourth generation Oregonian, born and raised in Salem, Oregon as were her parents and grandparents.  She spent twenty years in education culminating in her position as Superintendent
of Schools in Detroit, Oregon.  After merging the Detroit School District with the Mill City District, she accepted a position with Newport Pacific Corporation as General Manager. She operated the Corporate Mo’s Restaurants in Florence, Cannon Beach, and Lincoln City as well as the Oregon Oyster Farms in Newport, Oregon

She has extensive experience in both private and institutional budgeting, contracting and acquisitions. She has worked as a consultant in both the private and public sectors.
 
She and husband Darr have traveled extensively to Europe and Asia. They have three children, all living in Oregon.

LOREN A. WRIGHT

WASHINGTON CERTIFIED GENERAL APPRAISER

 Loren A. Wright was born in Portland, Oregon.  He attended Lewis & Clark College and Mount Hood Community College before graduating from the Evergreen State College with a Bachelor of Arts degree.  Loren worked in real estate sales before joining the Commercial Appraisal Division of the Washington County Assessors office, where he worked for five years. Starting in 1989 he worked for the Oregon Department of Revenue as an industrial appraiser. While there, Loren also spent three years as a Hearings Officer. Loren is a candidate for the designation of MAI and started with Capital Valuation Group in 1997.

MEGAN B. GERMANN

REGISTERED APPRAISER ASSISTANT

Megan was born and raised in Salem, Oregon. She attended Menlo College in the bay area after high school. She has been exposed to the appraisal profession for most of her life but has recently embraced it as a career. Megan has been with the company since March of 2002. Megan is married and the mother of two beautiful boys.

General Urban Commercial properties.


RANDALL M. HEATER

STATE REGISTERED APPRAISER ASSISTANT

Randall was born and raised in Salem, Oregon. He graduated from The University of Oregon with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Business Administration. He has been exposed to the appraisal profession for most of his life and has now chosen it as a career. He hopes to explore Commercial and Residential Development in the future. Randall has been with the company since December of 2001, when he became a State Registered Appraiser Assistant. He is currently continuing his education and hopes to become an MAI.

General Urban Commercial properties.
